Meet Fr. Carl Kerkemeyer

Dear Parishioners and Visitors,
In August 2019 I began my third pastorate at St. Patrick, Atoka and St. William, Durant after St. Thomas More, Tulsa (5 years) and Sacred Heart, Miami - St. Anne, Welch (11 years).  Born and raised in the St. Louis area, I appreciate the love and sacrifices my now deceased parents provided for handing on the faith at home and via Catholic grade school formation for me and seven living siblings.
Catholic parochial education at Saints Peter & Paul Catholic School with the influence of religious sisters of the Order of St. Ursula from first through eighth grade was common for us as children at the parish.  Secular high school and university education followed.
Intrigued by math and science, after three employments as an analytical chemist for thirteen years, I was accepted for priestly formation for the Diocese of Tulsa (and Eastern Oklahoma) at St. Vincent Seminary in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, the first Benedictine Archabbey in the United States, as they were celebrating their sesquicentennial of foundation.  This institution revealed to me God's great love for each of His creatures, the crisis of faith within our "Culture of Death," the universal call to holiness that each person receives from God, and my German characteristics.
