Welcome to St. Patrick, Atoka and St. William, Durant in Atoka and Bryan Counties, respectively.  The Catholic faith in the southwest corner of the Diocese of Tulsa and Eastern Oklahoma dates back prior to Oklahoma statehood.

The parish of St. Patrick, with its third church structure currently in use, is the oldest parish in the territory now called the State of Oklahoma.  A historical marker near the driveway at Highway 69/75 on the south side of Atoka highlights the significance of this faith community.  Covenant Catholic Radio broadcasts on 91.7 FM from Limestone Gap, OK (north of Mack Alford State Correctional Center) to Caddo, OK and from Tupelo, OK to Cade, OK.

The parish of St. William, just west of Southeastern Oklahoma State University, at its second location, has a rich history, including Blessed Stanley Rother, who served here in the 1960's.  Declared a Martyr in 2014 after serving the faithful in Guatemala, Fr. Stanley from Okarchee, Oklahoma was beatified in 2017.  God willing his canonization cause will be approved in the near future.  During his first priestly assignment in Durant he began the clearing and construction of a Catholic camp still in operation on the west side of Lake Texoma.  Fr. Stanley's priestly service reflects that of St. John Vianney, patron saint of priests, in love with God and neighbor.
